Dave Maddox Sr. Analyst, Project Director
What do you get when you cross a marketing director, advertising executive and seasoned market researcher? Dave Maddox, a talented and creative project director and senior analyst with 25 years of experience. Dave sees marketing initiatives from the client’s perspective, and will confidently advise you in the application of research and the translation of data into realistic marketing strategies. Clients find his ‘common sense’ approach and ‘to the point’ reporting refreshing.
While Dave has a diverse client base across many industries, he is known for his expertise in the home building, restaurant and retail sectors. He enjoys focusing on consumer research and leveraging his advertising background to dive into brand research. Dave is creative and innovative in his approach to getting ‘answers’ for his clients.
Before joining WestGroup in 2002, Dave had most recently held positions with home builder T.W. Lewis, advertising agency E.B. Lane, and Circle K Corporation. Dave was also an independent consultant for a number of years.
In addition to his work with clients, Dave also serves as WestGroup’s in-house marketing director. Dave holds a BA in Communications from Arizona State University and has enjoyed returning to the university setting, occasionally teaching classes at ASU West. Dave has also presented at local and national research conferences, and you may have seen him on local news, dissecting each year’s crop of Super Bowl commercials.
Prior to entering the marketing field, Dave worked as an air traffic controller and as a PGA Golf Professional. When not working with research clients, he designs, builds and sells custom wood furniture out of his home workshop. Maddox says his nearest brush with fame came in 1993 when he played 18 holes of golf with Michael Jordan.
