Edward A. Bergo, Principal
Ed is a Principal of WestGroup, and is both an owner and a Project
Director. Ed provides client service primarily for retail, high tech,
and packaged goods clients, clients, and advises other Project Directors
in data collection design. Ed joined with Ted Apostol to acquire WestGroup
Research in 1989, and joined the staff full-time in 1990.
Ed has owned and operated data collection businesses in Phoenix, Albuquerque, and Green Bay, Wisconsin. He has been a pioneer in adopting computerized data collection technologies.
For 14 years, Ed served in both U.S. and European marketing operations for Johnson Wax, conducting consumer and advertising research. He was involved in some of the early applications of perceptual mapping and multidimensional scaling of product attributes to determine relationships between competitive products.
Ed is active in the Marketing Research Association and the American Marketing Association. He served as president of the Phoenix Chapter of AMA and served on the MRA national board of directors. He has made presentations at regional and national conferences. He has participated as a moderator in two AMA Leadership Conferences. His articles have appeared in association publications.
Ed is a graduate of St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN. He has completed postgraduate work in Marketing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
