Ted J. Apostol, President
WestGroup Research President, Ted Apostol, has the overall responsibility
for WestGroup operations. He also provides client service for Government,
Financial, Health Care, and Advertising clients.
Ted directs WestTrack and consults with clients on custom research. He
designs and analyzes surveys, focus group studies, and shopper studies.
He has 30 years experience in research. His career began when he graduated
from ASU in 1969. Ted's first jobs were in the sales and advertising
side of marketing at The Arizona Bank, Procter and Gamble, and First Federal
Savings.
Originally a client of WestGroup Research (formerly M R West), Ted eventually
joined the company in 1974 as Marketing Director. His interest, however,
rapidly turned from selling research to doing research. He was trained
by the late (great) Ray West who started WestGroup in 1959.
Ted became the WestTrack Project Director in 1976. Ted's financial
marketing background made him well suited to direct WestTrack. Under Ted's
management, WestTrack became widely used by advertising agencies, electric
utility companies, hospitals, home builders, retailers, insurance companies,
and others. The diversified client base provided him with valuable experience.
As a result, he has worked with nearly every major healthcare organization,
financial institution, utility, advertising agency and retailer in Arizona.
After 1981, Ted became primarily responsible for WestGroup's custom research
and was named President in 1986. Ted and his wife Cari acquired the research
portion of WestGroup Marketing Research in 1989, and recruited stock participation
by Ed Bergo, Beth Aguirre, and Dr. Dave Gourley. All are currently working
owners.
